When Saturday Comes

Premiership starts today, yawn - of much more interest is The Championship, now at week 2, which is much more unpredictable, and interesting, witness last seasons ups and downs (Hull going up was good, but the thing about them being the biggest city in Europe without top division football, was a fallacy, as there were a couple of bigger cities in Germany, and several in Russia, who'd never played in their top divisions).

Of particular interest of course is the return to The Championship of Nottingham's finest, the Garibaldi Reds. Forest, of course, are the original ‘Reds’, having adopted red as the club colours, almost from the day of formation in 1865. Liverpool Football Club were not formed until 1891, and Manchester United, as Newton Heath, originally played in green and gold halves.

Forest looked ok in opening match against Reading, and Guy Moussi in particular looked useful. I fancy Earnshaw to score at Swansea today, and the formation they played against Reading will probably suit a tough away game, but they do need to get someone to play up front with Earnshaw, given that Garner is out for another couple of months, Andrew (never Andy) Cole will be injured off and on all season, likewise Tyson. All the kids coming through, seem to be medium sized and fast, rather than big and powerful, although one or two look useful.
